History of the Order

The First Jedi Academy, on Alderaan, was founded by Master Qel-Droma, last of the Jedi Masters. He re-established the Jedi Order, and trained many new Jedi. Among them was his successor, Jedi Master Anden Martins. Martins was heavily influenced by his Master's teachings, and he believed in expanding the Order. So he sent out his most trusted Masters to start Academies of their own on several Republic owned planets. He remained on Alderaan, and established the New Jedi Temple. This became the center of the entire Jedi Order, and also of the Jedi related affiliates including the Jensaarai, and the Grey Jedi.

However one by one, these academies fell under the power of the growing Sith and CIS armies. Soon the only place in the galaxy where the Jedi held sway was on Alderaan. But that too, fell beneath the onslaught of war. Dark times fell over the galaxy, and the Jedi... few as they were, arranged through whispers and rumors to meet on a hidden planet; a planet only known to the Jedi, that was hidden from the rest of the galaxy. So now, the bravest of Jedi seek out this new Hidden Jedi Temple, on the mysterious planet of Kamino.

Ranks

-Initiate (A prospect Jedi who does not yet have a mentor)
-Padawan (A prospect Jedi that is being mentored by a Jedi Master or Knight)
-Acting Knight (A Jedi padawan that has completed their training, and now awaits their trials)
-Knight (A Jedi that has passed the trials required to advance, but has not yet trained a Padawan)
-Acting Master (A Jedi that has trained a padawan, yet has not shown the proper maturity for master)
-Master (A Jedi that has passed the trials to advance, and has guided a Padawan to Knighthood)

-Councillor (A veteran Jedi Master that has a seat on the High Council)
-Master Emissary(Councillor who oversees Jedi Training; leads the order in the Grand Master's leave)
-Grand Master (Appoints the Council and leads the Jedi Order)

Each Jedi starts out as a Padawan-learner, training under either a Master or a Knight. When they have passed the trails, they become a Knight. When they have succesfully guided a Padawan to Knighthood, they are promoted to Master. When they have become a Master, they may be invited to the Jedi Council, which is the highest honour concievable.

A Jedi Padawan is adressed as "Padawan" or "Apprentice"
An Acting Jedi Knight is adressed as "Jedi"
A Jedi Knight is adressed as "Jedi"
An Acting Jedi Master is adressed as "Master"
A Jedi Master is adressed as "Master"
A Master Emissary is adressed as "Master" or "Teacher"
A Grand Master is adressed as "Master"

Any Jedi training a Padawan is adressed as "Master" by his/her Padawan

Jedi Training

When becomming a Jedi, one must choose their Class, their Combat Style, and their Force abilities. A Jedi must have some form of all three in order to successfully become a Jedi. These are outlined as followed:

Paths

There are three main paths for a Jedi to follow, the path of the Guardian, the path of the Sentinel, and the path of the Consular.

Guardian: Jedi that focus mainly on combat

Sub-Classes are granted by the Council, not automatically achieved. Paths are linked. A Jedi Consular that chooses Scholar as his/her sub class will next become a Librarian, then finally Chronicler.


Lightsaber Combat

All Jedi are trained in lightsaber combat, Consulars, Sentinels and Guardian's alike. Every Jedi Padawan will recieve very basic training in all of the lightsaber forms. Together with their Master, a Padawan should seek a fighting style that fits him best, and pursue that style. When they take the trials to Knighthood, a Jedi must show sufficient skills in one of the seven forms:

Form I: Shii-Cho "The Basic Form" -Good for Consulars-
Form II: Makashi "The Duelist Form" -Good for Sentinels-
Form III: Soresu "The Defensive Form" -Good for Sentinels-
Form IV: Ataru "The Agressive Form" -Good for Guardians-
Form V: Shien / Djem So "The Perseverance Form" -Good for Guardians-
Form VI: Niman "The Moderation Form" -Good for Consulars-
Form VII: Juyo / Vaapad "The Dark/Light Form" -Good for Guardians-

Force Training

Through training in the Force, Jedi can achieve a greater understanding of the Force and inner peace. Meditations are a daily routine for every Jedi, and all Jedi should strive to learn as much about the Force as they can.
